For me, behind the fantasising was intense pain in the present moment and reality I was in, I used fantasy to cope with existence. The causes of fantasising are many and go from coping to abuse to enjoyment.

If you ponder when the details of Upanishad studies points ‘Immortality of self’ instantly we visualise our attention on the fantasy world because our mental modelling denotes faraway illustrations of events and are merely the basis of someone’s interpretation of life. What is unreal to us is not necessarily nonexistent hence fantasy gives scope to think broadly and we do so to counteract the unverifiable logics and the demands of real life.
