“Each night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

“Give it to God and go to sleep.” ~ Anonymous

“A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor’s book.” ~ Irish Proverb

Everyone has wrestled to fall asleep at one point in their lives or another. Perhaps it was a stressful day or there’s an upcoming obligation on the horizon occupying your thoughts. Maybe you just woke up in the middle of the night with thoughts swirling around in your consciousness and now you can’t fall back asleep. Whatever it is, a guided meditation can help bring you back to center, directing your attention toward your intention; which in this case, is getting a good night’s sleep.

Sleep is an important state of rest and rejuvenation and a source of energy for the body and mind. Haven’t you noticed that when you are sleep-deprived you feel more tired, grouchy, irritable, and crazy?

Adequate sleep is very important: when you’re asleep your brain wave frequencies change, and neural firing decreases. Better sleep can lower stress and improve your memory, mental clarity, focus, immune system, and also reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s. Though healthy sleep has more to do with the quality of the rest, quantity also is important. Sometimes we might notice that our sleep patterns are disturbed for many reasons and we don’t get enough sleep. This affects our memory, productivity and everyday life.

Here are some YouTube guided meditations for a restful sleep ~

~Binaural beats between 1 and 30 Hz are alleged to create and simulate the same brainwave pattern that one would experience during meditation. When you listen to a sound with a certain frequency, your brain waves will synchronize with that frequency. The theory is that binaural beats can help create the frequency needed for your brain to create the same waves commonly experienced during a meditation practice. The use of binaural beats in this way is sometimes called brainwave entrainment technology. ~ https://youtu.be/FIMdEPd98xs

“Put your thoughts to sleep, do not let them cast a shadow over the moon of your heart. Let go of thinking.” ~ Rumi

We hope these meditations will aid you into finding restful sleep! Sleep well fellow souls.

  1. We all are dreaming in reality and functioning as both the ‘Knower’ and the ‘Known”. But numbing the mind is not a meditation, same applies to e-meditation after gaining the appropriate knowledge which is also a mean not the end. The tendency to doze off during meditation is an obstacle. Because sleep and meditation have commonalities The mind does not know whether it is meditation time or sleeping time so after practices the mind understands.
