Poetry {193} ~ VENEER OF ACCESSORIES

Would I even recognise myself

Without all these accessories

Layer upon sheets of mere tissue paper

A convincing veneer

That crumples under the tenderest touch

And soaks under its own weight

As we peel the coatings of the merkaba onions

To weep at each removal

And rejoice to the core.
