Beditation is a neologism used to describe usually guided meditation programmes that are carried out in bed. It is also the brand name of an app, which offers guided meditations for the client to listen to before they go to sleep and when they wake up, instead of an alarm clock.

The guided meditations used for beditation may be specific to improving the quality of sleep and combating insomnia, or they may be for more diverse purposes, such as promoting mindful eating or quitting smoking.

The theory behind beditations is that using them in the evening can help sleep to come more easily, and that morning beditations set a positive tone for the day. They may also be more physically comfortable to practice than seated meditations, which many people find challenging.
